Last year I quit my job in hopes of pursuing a dream. Well, that dream came true but now I don't bike to work anymore. I miss it. I see people biking every morning and I'm stuck in the car. I watch them pedaling and in my mind I can hear the zzzzzzzz of a well oiled chain,  i can feel my fingers wrapped around the bars and i can smell the salty ocean air. Sigh.

Dont get me wrong - I love my new job - and I'm thankful my dream came true.

I just wish it had come with a bike ride too.

Joseph...... i feel for you. I sold my Jeep 6 years ago to go 'carless' and now because of my dream job I'm back in the car. As a  private estate gardener I often need to carry tools or materials for work, bike just won't work. It sucks and I swore I was off the car for good....but your dreams only get fulfilled once in a blue moon.  I am however seriously considering  a hybrid car. I just need more knowledege about them. Trust me, How's your weather affecting your ride? I saw a video of a 'snow commute'....it looked pretty intense. :)

Hey DjD808 you're right ! i've given it some thought and in some sections it's a possibility. My roundtrip mileage to and from work is 60 miles, so it's a haul even in the car but the bike sure would break that up nicely.

My roundtrip commute before was 16 miles on a fixed 48x16 (i'm in FLAT south florida) and that was a good ride :)

I think I can find that again :)

So, Thanks for the idea!

All too familiar a problem to me. I moved from Chicago to NYC for a dream job, but had to give up my. Bike Ride o work work for a train commute. At least I can remain car-less but I do miss the freedom. In solidarity with you!

Im sure you have thought of this already but if not, couldn't you figure out the best spot along your route to park your car and ride you bike the rest of the way? Any Park and Rides you can take advantage of?
