Hey everyone.. FGR asked me to post a post about the process of the whole license thing in Long Beach. Pretty stoked how i was messaged by them. Well I live here in Long Beach Ca and the law is required here for bicyclist to have a bike registered under a license with the frames number and such other parts. Without a bike license if your bike is stolen, or if your riding alot without a license is like driving without your license. Just shows your identification of your bike and the owner thats pretty much it. Its not like you go and take driving classes and get your bike license. Its really simple, Go to a close by Fire Department and check when there doing bike license. Ask to get your bike registered, and they would simply get the papers. Theres a fee to get your bike registered, its about $3 or $4. Takes only a couple of mins to get a license and your done. They'll ask you for your frames number and other parts. They'll write it down put it on a computer and give you, your copy of the license. Thats pretty much it.. Bring your license with you always and if your bike is stolen go to the police department and give them your license and they'll go look for your stolen bike.

Anyone else in Long Beach that goes through the same process?
Most people dont even get there bike registered anyways down here. But if you get busted, you'll get a ticket that would cost you more than buying a new complete Fixie.

they wont even look for my stolen car let alone my bike. i think it's a great idea but here in milwaukee the cops are to busy looking for drug dealers and murderes to be wurried about my bike. unless it's worth $2000 or more they wont even fill out a report

Yeah true man, just doing it rather pay $3 a year then pay $200+ off fines lmao

sheesh thats heavy, but good in a way. Here no one cares, too much other crimes to worry about, not saying we are riddled with crime. But having a bike license is a little weird to me. I suppose cause you using the roads and its connected to tax etc. But yeah fines are horrible and not worth the risk.

I bet many people have read this and still will not do as you have, getting their bikes licensed.
