I originally learned about fixed gear after watching two very special documentaries on Netflix: To Live and Ride In LA and Fixation. Both of these amazing films introduced me to a variety of people that I have identified with as well as a culture that I wanted to be a part of.
I was very drawn to the simplicity and fluidity of the riders, and their personal connections with their bikes as well as with the other people they rode with. It was…Continue

About 6 years ago when I was considering leaving London I was procrastinating on the idea of cycling everywhere. The fact that I left for The Netherlands helped much with this change of lifestyle.
I have had 5 bikes in the last 6 years.
First cheap second hand ones that broke or rather where broken since I lived oposite the train station.
Then I got a new on which lasted for the better part of two years, nearly three.

One thing that is great about fixed gear bikes is that they make us realize things and appreciate things we may have not appreciated before riding. Sometimes it is good to slow things down and take a moment to focus on track stands while everything else is moving so rapidly around you.
Check out the video below for what I'm talking about. Found on…Continue

I have been drawn to the fixie-single speed concept since I first saw a mug crushing a big gear out by Cherry Creek Res....we were headed south on Jordan and he would catch and pass me after every light and had a really low cadence... I was working on getting a really high cadence and I was surprised at his set up....everything else looked like a normal racing bike. So I struck up a conversation with him and got the LOWDOWN!
I guess tho that my love of fixie and Single…Continue
