"Thanks again Jim,
So good to have people like you out there who'll share their expertise and enthusiasm. Already, after a week of trying to reduce the bounce at speed, I feel a bit more confident in my abilities to get the century nailed! The…"
"Keep it up and stay committed. I recently rode fixed with some friends on their tandem (geared). I had to spin at 130+ rpm a few times or I would get dropped. I believe ability to spin high rpm is the limiting factor. …"
I ride down a couple of steep hills each day and I'm finding these "interesting"! My cadence is naturally fairly slow having very long legs, but I'm gradually increasing this without my legs bouncing too much!!…"
"I just got the Omnium 3 days ago. Nice. I never had the Sugino. My previous crank was old school square taper so the Omn is much stiffer. So far (3 days) I love it. Doing a century this weekend so I'll really…"
"Check out Dunlop Volleys. They are like the national shoe of Australia. If you know anyone from there ask em about it. They are $15 and very comfortable. Worth the effort to get a pair if you know someone from there or going…"
So good to have people like you out there who'll share their expertise and enthusiasm. Already, after a week of trying to reduce the bounce at speed, I feel a bit more confident in my abilities to get the century nailed! The one I think I'll do first is around the Suffolk coast in May. This gives me all winter to refine my technique. I'll let you know how things progress. Thanks again!
I ride down a couple of steep hills each day and I'm finding these "interesting"! My cadence is naturally fairly slow having very long legs, but I'm gradually increasing this without my legs bouncing too much!! I'm a go for it sort of person and amazed my family by doing my first century earlier this year, so I'll amaze them again by doing a fixie century next spring.
I ride alot of miles no less then 65 a day right now with 2 days off a week usual month tracks about 1200 miles on average.I do more of I had more time and other guys willing to push the pace with me.We have a lot of guys in my area that ride Roadbikes expensive road bikes.I do ride with a couple of team riders from trek now and again,But no one else that rides all fixed all the time.Currently I've been riding 50/12t for both flats and hills,Not little baby hills but man hills. Also I don't do the the brakes either.I trade off riding clipless and riding bmx pedals with mini straps.I really would be interested and getting some other heads that are very serious about doing some serious miles.I want the Daily to be atleast 100 miles with solid 8 to 10 hours of rest in between I know I could do 200 a day but all depends on overall distance and course mapping.
Having spent 48 hours with Mike Cherney on a bicycle, during Brovet #03, I can say without a doubt that he is one of the most unique individuals I’ve ever met and I mean that in the best way possible. Mike is a true craftsman, so much so that Moots recently commissioned him to fabricate […]
