I'm just curious how fast you riders can go and then pull off a skid.

I've done it while going 25 mph no problem

when I'm around 29-32, it feels a little bit scarier, but I love that feeling :)

I try never to skid in high speeds because of the chance of injury to knees. To be honest skidding is cool the first few tires and when needed at a single you can't safely pass through but tires don't come cheap and skidding just for the sake of skidding doesn't have it's appeal anymore.I notice that it can really have a big impact on my knees and does loosen chain ring. But to the guys that like doing them I think its great.I understand the excitement of learning something new.As for you Dan you have always been someone I think has an exceptional understanding of riding and I don't think there's much I can teach you.Well maybe just how to party like a rock star in OC when you fly out
I party like a porn star
i've done it for 50 kmph.........
but i must skid because in front of me there's a traffic jam....T_T
Yea I'm with Nikko. At first skidding was fun. Then you learn its actually pretty hard on the knees, tires, etc. I prefer just going with the pace of traffic and using resistance to stop, only skidding in emergencies or when bombing hills to maintain speed.

I was going down a long stretch of hills in austin last night and probably ended up going 25-30 then skidding. Its sketchy to the point it almost feels like the lock ring is gonna pop (it doesnt but still haha)
yeah I live in hilly area with some that scare the living shit out of me, but I still bomb'em.

Skids are necessary for me cause of the hills and no brakes. The extremely steep hills are the only reason I always think about throwing a front brake on; still haven't done it yet.
kick skids work going downhills too and don't use as much rubber slowing down,Only down side of them is if you don't have strong rims you will need to tru them more often.
Its all about the brakeless bmx stop, until the sole of your shoe is completely shredded and then you realize a 20 dollar tire would cost less to replace than 80 dollar shoes...such is life
TRue that Kim
