What size/kind of tires and wheels do you guys use?

I am kinda ridiculous I guess but I painted my old Schwinn Continental (way too heavy but its my first so I would like to ride it some before finding a new frame) frame florescent yellow and the decided that many of the components should be accents in blue so I have blue oury grips, chain, wellgo pedals, and this brings me to tires, I wanted blue and got confused on size so I ordered 700c by 23 blue contintentals... this meant I had to get new wheels seeing as my old ones were 27"... a friend's dad is letting go some early 90s black shimano racing wheels for $40 so I am in luck but he heard they were for my fixie and started laughing at me.

so back to the question what size and brand of tired and wheel do you guys ride? is there a standard among fixies? or am i just getting made fun of by people who don't get it. (my bike looks flipping awesome. ill post pictures once it is all done.)

I think you're being made fun of by people who don't get it.

Outside of clubs and sponsored riders, I don't think there is a standard tire — I could be wrong. I go with what works for me. To answer your question about the tires I use: Continental Ultrasprots 700x23c. They last a long time, and best of all, they're pretty inexpensive. Let's face it, few of us are racing in a velodrome or in the Toure de France.
I run those Vredestein tires ,,blue or black , 23 or 25 ,,, $25
They fit tight and are listed at 160 psi ,, I go 125 most of the time
Don't play the thin / light tube game as blow outs increase 10 X.
I run them on my cinelli road bike .
