more than one person has said 'once you go slack you never go back'; what are the benefits of having extra slack in your chain. I keep mine with a tiny bit of wiggle room back and forth when track-standing, which I guess looks about like the 1/2" recommended. Anyone go looser than that?

there is less resistance when u have slack...the back wheel spins a bit easier...thats what i noticed as the difference between slack and tight. i ride my chain super super super tight, i hate that tacky look with the chain loose, and the feel it gives when trackstanding or doing flat land tricks...but when i spin the back wheel when its tight, it spins maybe a few times before stoppping...
